- Should you have any doubt about any item you are considering storing, please ask a member of our staff.
We ask all of our customers to pay via our AutoBill function. AutoBill is similar to the service provided by Direct Debit. Unfortunately we do not accept cash, or cheques.
We do provide competitively priced contents cover for your items whilst in store (priced on a per £1000 of coverage per 4 week rental period starting with a minimal coverage of £5000). With the contents cover that you can purchase with Squab, all of your goods in our storage facilities are insured against most major risks – fire, theft due to forced entry, flood and water damage, impact by aircraft.
In many cases, household insurance may cover individual items against “accidental damage” whilst in store – it’s worth checking with your insurer.
We also ask all of our self-storage customers to sign a contents coverage declaration when they move into store.
Our policy is that you pay for the storage you use. We provide you with a padlocks, and your security fob when you move in (and ask for them to be returned at the end of the stay). We do ask that all customer goods have some form of contents protection/insurance when they are staying with us – this can be provided by ourselves and the price will depend on the value of the goods in store.
With other storage companies you may also incur charges when you leave the store, finding that you need to give several weeks’ notice, or even pay “out of store charges”. Again, we do not impose any exit charges.
Please also be aware that if you have participated in our 50% off the first 8 weeks offer the minimum stay required to participate in that offer is 12 weeks. If you move out prior to the end of the 12 weeks you will be liable for incremental fees representing the equivalent price had you not participated in the offer.
We always try to offer each and every customer the best value for money – this is already reflected in our prices. We are aware that lots of storage businesses may offer a variety of discounts to start with but you will quickly discover that over a longer period of time your rental charges increase.
We’re happy to offer a 5% discount for payment of the first six months in advance and 10% for the first 12 months paid in advance.
At certain sites and during certain periods we may also offer 50% off the first 8 weeks offer. The minimum stay required to participate in that offer is 12 weeks. If you move out prior to the end of the 12 weeks you will be liable for incremental fees representing the equivalent price had you not participated in the offer.
You only pay for the storage you use, but we usually ask for seven days’ notice to allow us time to close your account.

Gas cylinders and/or flammable liquids cannot be transported in our vehicles as they are not covered under our insurance, so alternative arrangements will need to be made. Equipment such as garden mowers and chainsaws should be drained of all liquids beforehand.
This is a tricky question but if you decide to pack the box yourself then we cannot guarantee how well you have packed it. So if the box is seen to make it from the collection address to the delivery address without any visible damage but something inside the box is broken then our removal contents protection won’t cover that damage. However, if the box is dropped or damaged during transit e.g. a chair leg was to goes through the box and damages the contents then our removals contents protection would provide cover as this comes down to the way we have loaded and transported the goods.
We ask for a 30% deposit on booking and the final balance a few days prior to moving day. Please note, your payment is protected by the Advanced Payment Guarantee (APG) Scheme.
Yes! It is always best if you have a clear idea of where you want your furniture to be placed. Our staff will endeavour to arrange the rooms to your liking but will not have the time to continually rearrange your room.
Unless the loft has a fitted loft ladder and is boarded out and lit, our insurance does not cover our staff for this activity.
Providing the unit is sturdy enough then light items such as clothing, bedding etc. can be left in. Please remove any books, magazines, breakable items etc. Self-assembly furniture does not respond well to moving so this type of furniture must only be moved while completely empty.
We dismantle and reassemble standard sized beds. Unless agreed at the quotation stage all other items need to be dismantled and ready to move prior to our arrival. If agreed at the quotation stage our staff will carry out dismantling and re-assembling to the best of their ability. It is essential that we know what is required at the quotation stage to allow for the necessary resources and equipment to be provided.
Bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and the more notice, the better, but you would normally expect to book 7-14 days prior to moving day.
