We’re pleased to announce that Squab are the winners of not one, but two awards at the Self Storage Association UK (SSA UK) industry awards evening on 30 April.

Manager of the Year

Laura Lloyd from Squab self storage (pictured above) was awarded the prestigious Manager of the year award. Judged on a range of criteria including customer service, innovation, community involvement, sales performance and marketing, she beat a strong field of entrants from all over the UK.

The judges said that “Laura is clearly a manager that makes a difference! A big personality that touches staff and customers alike and delivers outstanding results in within the business at all levels”

Laura’s achievements are even more remarkable given that she started her self storage journey as a sales consultant at the same store and is now leading staff across the organisation.

Laura is a marketing and community engagement machine who drives sales while ensuring every customer has an exceptional storage experience. Clear metrics show the inflection point from when she joined and started having a major impact on the business. She has taken ownership and shown fantastic entrepreneurial spirit to drive several initiatives that have driven awareness of the business and product.

YSN Operator Member of the Year

Joshua Finch was awarded the YSN (Young Storage Network) Opererator Member of the Year award to recognise his contribution to the group, who’s goal is to support youth in the storage industry allowing under 40s to get together to network and share ideas.

The awards were presented as part of the SSA UK annual conference and trade show held at the international centre in Telford. The gala dinner was attended by over 480 self storage operators and staff. The awards are judged by self storage specialists from around the world as well as marketing and customer specialists.
